The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns baseball team concluded their weekend series against Georgia Southern with a narrow 4-3 loss on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at M.L. “Tigue” Moore Field at Russo Park in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Despite the setback, the Cajuns secured the series victory, having won the first two games: 4-1 on Friday and 7-3 on Saturday.
Louisiana started strong, scoring one run in each of the first three innings. Drew Markle contributed with a sacrifice fly in the first inning, Carson Hepworth added a sacrifice bunt in the second, and Jose Torres drew a bases-loaded walk in the third, bringing the score to 3–0.
However, Georgia Southern responded in the fourth inning with a solo home run by Cade Parker. The fifth inning proved pivotal as the Eagles scored three more runs, including a two-run double by Parker, shifting the lead to 4–3 in their favor. The Cajuns were unable to score in the remaining innings, resulting in the final score.
