The portal entries for Louisiana softball aren’t as heavy as they were last season as they lost 8 starters after the 2024 season. But the Cajuns are losing their ace pitcher and an infielder and outfielder who didn’t see any playing time in the 2025 season. So far they have announced 2 new players from SEC programs that will help bolster the Cajuns roster with experience. We will continue to update the story as we hear more.
Mallory Wheeler P Entered portal Louisiana → Duke
Chayne Allen OF Entered portal Louisiana → McLennan Community College
Raenna Liscano IF Entered Portal Louisiana → TBA
Kennedy Marceaux IF Alabama → Louisiana
Madyson Manning IF LSU → Louisiana
Infield Upgrade: Reinforcing the hot corner and other spots with SEC-level talent in Marceaux and Manning.
Experience Balance: The newcomers bring valuable collegiate experience to help offset the departures.
With Marceaux and Manning officially on board, Louisiana’s 2026 season appears sharper in the infield, courtesy of two dynamic transfers from major SEC programs. The incoming freshmen, internal returners, and potential late additions from the portal will help to round out outfield and pitching.
The portal exit of Allen, Liscano, and Wheeler opens space, while the additions of Marceaux and Manning signal Alyson Habetz’s strategic pivot—transforming new roster gaps into opportunities for experienced talent.
