The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns softball program has officially added Kyle Brady as its new pitching coach, a move announced last week and confirmed by D1Softball and other media outlets.
Brady most recently served as the pitching coach for the University of Toledo softball program during the 2024–25 academic year. He was hired in July 2024, where head coach Jessica Bracamonte praised his player development skills and alignment with Toledo’s team culture.
Prior to joining Toledo, Brady helped lead Chattanooga State Community College to conference and regional championships, as well as an appearance in the NJCAA World Series as an assistant coach.
Brady also served as the pitching coach for the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 2022. That year, the Huskies finished 20–4 in BIG EAST play and secured their first regular-season title since 1997. Under his guidance, UConn posted an ERA below 2.00 (1.99 conference-wide) and achieved both school and staff strikeout records—194 strikeouts in conference play, and 395 overall. One of his standout pitchers, Elise Sokolsky, led the conference with 20 wins and 180 strikeouts and earned unanimous first-team All‑Big East honors.
Brady began his collegiate softball career off the field as the director of operations at Duke University during the 2019–20 seasons. During that era, Duke earned its first-ever national ranking (#25) and posted a 23–4 overall record.
Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Brady graduated from the University of Dayton in 2009 with a degree in philosophy. He pitched two seasons at Wingate University at the NCAA Division II level (2011–13), then played professionally for three seasons in independent circuits like the Frontier League and American Association.
Beyond coaching, Brady has been proactive in developing training systems for pitchers and overhand throwers, and he has placed dozens of players into collegiate programs. His experience as a performance and development consultant spans institutions across the country for nearly a decade.
