The Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns capped off their regular season with a 4–2 victory over Southern Miss on Saturday at Lamson Park in Lafayette. The win not only honored the senior class but also solidified Louisiana's position in the Sun Belt Conference standings.
In a game marked by timely hitting and strong pitching, Louisiana broke a scoreless tie in the fourth inning. Maddie Hayden led off with a single, followed by a bunt single from Dayzja Williams. A walk to Emily Smith loaded the bases, setting the stage for Laney Credeur's RBI single, bringing in the first run. The Cajuns added three more in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run single from Smith, extending their lead to 4–0.
Southern Miss responded in the fifth with a two-run inning, but Louisiana's defense and pitching held firm to secure the win.

The game also served as Senior Day, celebrating the careers of seven Louisiana players: Tyra Clary, Laney Credeur, Kayla Falterman, Maddie Hayden, Sam Roe, Sam Ryan, and Savannah White. Their contributions have been instrumental in the program's success over the years.
With the regular season concluded, the Cajuns now turn their attention to the Sun Belt Conference Championship Tournament in Troy, Alabama. The team's strong finish to the season has them poised for a deep run in the tournament.
