In a significant boost for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, four-star small forward Joshua Lewis has committed to the program, marking a pivotal moment in Coach Quannas White’s inaugural recruiting class.​

Ranked No. 69 nationally in the Class of 2025 by 247Sports, Lewis is a 6-foot-7 standout from Blake High School in Tampa, Florida. Known for his versatility, Lewis excels as a slashing wing with strong defensive capabilities and a high basketball IQ. His commitment to Louisiana is particularly noteworthy, as he chose the Ragin’ Cajuns over several high-major programs, including previous commitments to South Florida and Iowa.

Lewis's journey has been eventful. After initially committing to South Florida, he reopened his recruitment following the tragic passing of head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim. Subsequently, he committed to Iowa but decommitted after the dismissal of head coach Fran McCaffrey.  These experiences have led him to seek a program where he can grow both on and off the court.​

Coach Quannas White, recently appointed as Louisiana's head coach, has been instrumental in securing Lewis's commitment. White's reputation for player development and his vision for the program resonated with Lewis, who is eager to be a cornerstone in the Ragin’ Cajuns' resurgence.​
